About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Get up off my couch to see the world one friend at a time.
ABOUT ME
Living in LA since August, 2010. Graduate with BA in Cultural Anthropology from Columbia University. Traveled extensively in Yucatan for Mayan studies (before Cancun was built). Lived on island of Ibiza in 400 yo house with no electricity or running water for 2 years. Have traveled alone across North Africa, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia when that kind of travel was possible. Most enjoy living with native people and enjoying their hospitality. I speak fluent French and Spanish. Had over 50 English as a Second Language students in NYC living continuously with me for over 5 years (anywhere from a week to 3 months). Have welcomed people from all over the world into my home to become part of my family, however briefly. Biggest regret: not traveling by Magic Bus overland from Amsterdam to Kabul. Big sun worshipper, beach bum, love natural islands. I despise crowds, love indigenous cultures and natural beauty, so my travels reflect that.
My 65th birthday is coming up and I'll celebrate it in Venice, the unique island of no cars and magnificent architecture. Hope to travel for at least a month, after the big tourist summer season. I love history, painting, architecture. I also have a big problem with huge tourist crowds so I usually seek out quiet places to contemplate architecture, art, natural beauty. The older and more beautiful, the better.
Salut, les copains qui voyagent partout. Hola, amigos; m'encanta viajar.
PHILOSOPHY
The purpose of life is to be happy. Be a nice person. Find as much beauty in life as possible. Don't let other people get your kicks for you. Be as compassionate to people as you would have them be to you. Don't suffer fools, life is too short.
