About Me

Hello, there! I really do call myself Freedom. If you need, I can share my legal information with you. I really prefer that people call me Freedom, though.

---------- "MY TRIP IN THE PLANNING" ----------
Visiting: Saginaw, MI, USA
Oct 4 - Oct 10 (6 nights)
1 traveler
I am willing to break this trip up by surfing with several people. I will need to have backup plans, as well.

I am planning a trip to Saginaw for two purposes: 1) to be a tourist and 2) to participate with and attend my church. Particularly with regard to church, my plan is to attend church-related events on Wednesday. Thursday, and Sunday. I am usually adept at making my own touristing plans and don't need much help in that regard.

The best couch surfing location for me would be on a bus route so that I can take advantage of grocery shopping and library getaways. A location inside Saginaw, rather than in the countryside or in a nearby city, is essential so that I can get to church.

What I can offer:
I have an ability to hide in some far-off corner and become invisible and quiet. However, if that isn't your style, I also have these skills:

I own some really cool books and can bring some with me. I also own some chives and green onions, so I could bring dried chives, green onion bulbs, or living plants in small pots for you to transplant. I might be able to find some useful seeds lying around, too. There is a tomato plant in the back yard which is the result of volunteer seeding that has been happening for years now, for example.

As someone who is fluent in Spanish, I can also offer you an opportunity to practise your skills and even point you to some very handy learning apps. My French isn't that good, but I can definitely offer opportunities to learn, make mistakes, and laugh about them.

I am a huge Harry Potter fan. You could even call me a Potterhead. Want to talk themes and subplots and symbology? Let's have at it! Combining this with my language skills, I own a copy of Harry Potter y la Piedra Filosofal. I must leave with that book or else die of sadness, but you can definitely have a look at it while I am around.

I know very few Saginaw folk who are on Couch Surfing. However, I know some real-life people in Saginaw. If you need, I could have some of them vet me to you.

Would you like to host me? Drop me a line and let's talk!
---------- /END "MY TRIP IN THE PLANNING" ----------

I am a huge Harry Potter fan. I dearly wish that I actually had time on hand to be active in the Pottermore website. I also like trees - especially walking in the woods. And music. I don't think that I could live without music. Episcopal ecclesiastic music, general classical music, jazz... :)

I am a gay Muslim and have participated in the LGBTQ Muslim Retreat in 2013, 2014, and 2015. It pained me to miss this year, but I just couldn't save enough money.

I enjoy a good sense of humour and love to laugh. I also have this ability to be quiet and blend in, nearly to the point of invisibility.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hi! I am trying to move to Saginaw. It all pends on whether my several job applications get a bite. :) For now, I live an hour away. In the meantime, I frequent a church in the area. Usually, though, I need to stay overnight in Saginaw in order to go to church on Sunday.

This is the most basic reason that I seek a couch on which to surf. Perhaps it will be yours!

Interests

I actually make a study of the Harry Potter series. I really enjoy analysing the various themes presented in the series and how they intersect.

By the way, there are wild grape vines at the back of Dienderfor Woods; and when in season, the fruits are edible. Don't get them confused with not-grapes, though. Leaf and berry identification really helps in this endeavour.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Honestly, the thing that most excites me is that I re-discovered my singing voice. After so many years of psychological healing post-abuse, I was finally able to relax enough to settle back in to a rather decent singing voice.

It happened at the beginning of May, but I am still just so excited about that. Wow.
