About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am gonna make it through this year if it kills me. -Mountain Goats

ABOUT ME

PhD candidate but more likely just a student for life, recovering catholic, clean hippie, government employee, addictive personality, posing as a bike kid.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm lost and I'm pretty psyched about it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I really like hosting, I like the air of travel that fellow CSers bring to my apartment. Sitting up in the living room or on the balcony with them, trading stories, my apartment loses some of its house-ness and gains a little bit of that train-station / hostel feeling. It's especially welcome when I haven't traveled in awhile.

Interests

studying languages (spanish, arabic), studying how people study languages, reading, writing, listening to pretentious indie music, volunteering at the campus food co-op, talking/reading/arguing about philosophy and the nature of knowledge and ethics, playing rugby

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When the auto-carrier boat they used to evacuate us from Beirut reached Cyprus it was dawn, and the island was rising on one side of the horizon while the sun rose on the other, and i washed my face over the rail while behind me a man used a plastic bag for a prayer rug.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to tell you about Universal Grammar and what it probably isn't. Also I'm pretty efficient with an excel spreadsheet.

I want to know more about Arabic syntax, postmodernism, cooking, Judaism, the history of mathematics, how other people write fiction, and alot of other things.

Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In
