About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be inspired, carry with me smiles, inspire, learn and teach and learn and teach and learn and teach.....

ABOUT ME

Human, male, about 6 feet tall. I am of mostly Germanic heritage, my grandparents even spoke german as third generation Americans. I was born and raised in rolling hills of Southern Indiana. Most of the area is rural and devoted to farming, it is a nice place to live. I went to school, got a degree, got a job, and wasn't happy. Then I got another job, and another one at the same time. I saved up some money and am now PRETIRED, for a bit. I am planning on going to Grad school, for something or other. Thats it really.... I feel alot of stuff said in these boxes is a bit redundant, yes I like to have fun! Doesn't everybody? I can be quite but prefer to talk alot. I guess I am a pretty bright guy, not sure how it rubs off on people when I tell them about the origin of a word or some little fact like that, but I like to learn and teach everyday. I am really interested in about anything, helps to fill the pool of knowledge. I need to get back into shape, used to be an athelete but find some of the more mundane tasks of the world wearing me down lately. I really like to meet new people, make friends, see know places, and have new experieces. I like to hike!!! I have a cat, a couple of recued dogs, some horses(i can ride), my tank is empty but I used to have fish(cichlids). I like to fish, maybe I am getting old cause I find myself feeling sorry for the fish when I catch them, so that creates conflict cause I like to catch them. Oh I am really really good at skipping stones, I think I could beat the world record. I have a degree in psychology, and think that science is neat. I try to be positive about everything I can and have all these old saying bouncing around in my head from my parents and grandparents about doing right and all. Everday a moment comes along when you can make a choice to do the right thing, I try to do that. Like point out when someone drops some money, or hold the door open for someone, or even more restrain yourself when someone does something rude to you, like pull out in front of you!!! Hey, maybe they were in a hurry or did not see you!! We don't have to retaliate to feel better, reminds my of a lesson about the facilitation of aggresion via aggresion..... and so it goes, anyways I am sure I'd be glad to meet you!!!

PHILOSOPHY

"Do not suffer life to stagnate; it will grow muddy for want of motion: commit yourself again to the current of the world." Rasselas, Johnson
or indeed, there is nothing in the intellect which was not in the senses, except the intellect itself. Music is the pleasure the human mind experiences from counting without being aware that it is counting. Nothing exists and nothing happens without a reason why it is so, and not otherwise. Liebniz
Have to get to know me to well know me, but the way I feel is that we should strive to do the right thing not for fear(or hope) of God, or Karma,or retribution, but do it because it is right!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to participate by meeting new people on my travels. I am not sure about my living situation after traveling but I would like to be able to host people and share the wealth!!!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have very little experience in the official couchsurfing department, I hope to add to this.

Interests

I am interested in almost anything, sometimes even the trite. I read and am quite well read. I like to hike, trek, and camp. Do most of the outdoors stuff, some more then others; horseback/bike riding, fishing, nature and all that. I have a cat, two of my three dogs are rescued, and six horses. I watch or listen to the news alot. I am in to critical thinking and enjoy telling people why I am skeptical towards alot of things; aliens, ghosts, Nessie, bigfoot, angels, infomercials, and so on. So I am interested in science and have a degree in psychology. I play a bit of video games, and also enjoy table top games like Scrabble or even Magic TG,have even played some D&D. Currently trying to look around the room for some ideas on what I like. I like IU college basketball. I guess I could go on but thats what Couch Surfing is for, to get to know people right!?
