ABOUT ME

Nick and Francine are both 22 years old and studying Music/Arts. Nick plays the saxophone and Francine plays the violin.
We enjoy music, skiing, reading, watching hilarious television series/movies, being vegetarian, yoga, ballet hanging out with friends and travelling. We are interested in politics and the environment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We are fairly new to couchsurfing, and have only hosted others once, but we've lived with people who've hosted couchsurfers quite a bit. We're looking forward to couchsurfing in Europe in June and July 2011!

Interests

Nick: Listening to and making music. I play classical and jazz saxophone, and I also play saxophone and keyboards in a folk/pop band called Playwrite.

Music, Movies, and Books

Nick: I listen to a lot of music. My favourite pop artists are The Mountain Goats, Dan Kelly, Gorillaz, Arcade Fire, Joanna Newsom & The Cat Empire. My favourite jazz artists are Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Cannonball Adderley, Wayne Shorter and Maria Schneider (yes I play the saxophone). My favourite composers are Bach, Vivaldi, Schoenberg, Webern, Debussy, Stravinsky, Copland, Messiaen, Steve Reich & Brett Dean. I am always happy to talk about music.

I read a lot and study literature at University. My favourtie authors are Milan Kundera, Italo Calvino, George Orwell & Haruki Murakami.

Teach, Learn, Share

Nick: I am a saxophone teacher, and am happy to share my knowledge about music and the saxophone- I also play a little piano.
