CURRENT MISSION
To have fun!
ABOUT ME
I was teaching languages, I am now training to be a music therapist.
In my spare time I make new clothes by cutting up my old ones. I don't have a lot of money, but I have a lot of time for people. I think I am a good listener.
PHILOSOPHY
Happiness comes from the inside.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I think this is a difficult question. Everyone has their own idea of what they want to get out of CS and it most likely reflects what you want to get out of life.
For me personally I want to meet people who are able to think outside realms of normality. Probably because I find normality boring. Basically, if you're boring don't come to me. I want to meet crazy people who are alive. What the world needs is people who are alive.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed in Kyoto, sleeping on tatami mats in a shared Couchsurfing house.
I have hosted once. He had a great time in Sheffield!
Interests
I play cello in an improvised - ambient - experimental band called 'Mother of Vinegar'.
You can listen to it hear: http://motherofvinegar.posterous.com/

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all genres of music. I particularly enjoy folk, Byzantine and Klesma. Certain scales touch a particular chord with me. For example if I hear a sitar playing, that makes my hairs stand on end.
Books: I read a lot. The last book I read all the way through was The Crystal Cave by Mary Stewart. I am currently reading 'The Republic' by Plato. I enjoy Plato because he is very opinionated, wothout being intrusive. I think if you're going to make bold statements, it's best to say them with a degree of flexibility.
Movies: Children of Men, The Road, French Cinema, and more recently, Pedro Almodovar.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Japanese writing is made up of 4000 kanji characters. There are so many that even native Japanese people have trouble remembering them all. The characters are all taken from Chinese, even though Japanese and Chinese are spoken differently.
