About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Recognize the obvious, celebrate the subtle.

ABOUT ME

As I type this here in Sevilla my heart is torn between two amazing places: España and America. I am studying abroad for this spring semester, and it has just been an absolutely outstanding experience in every way imaginable. I'm absorbing as much of the language, the culture, and the people as I can. As you can probably tell (from my description as well as the fact that I'm on CouchSurfers at all!) I adore traveling and immersing myself in other cultures.
I am currently an undergraduate neurobiology student at the University of Miami (FL, not Ohio). I've been shadowing an amazing doctor here in Sevilla, and even got to help stitch up torn ligaments and muscles in the ER . . . all in Castilian, of course. I will be shadowing the fantastic doctors of Wills Eye Institute this summer for two months (although not consecutive). Then, I return to Miami for a semester full of orgo, experimental psych, and physics . . . fun, fun. And jiu jitsu. Yeah, I've been a jujitera for a while now, still only a white belt, but I love it! Plus, it was through my jiu jitsu class here in Sevilla that I made some of mis mejores amigos españoles (:
If you actually read all that, give yourself a pat on the back. And thanks. Hope to meet you someday!

PHILOSOPHY

Be a good person.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Heart of Darkness, Harry Potter series, Notes from Underground, murder mysteries
Música: de recién, me gusta la música nuevo flamenco de Andalucía como: Taxi, Ismael Serrano, Ojos de Brujo, Macaco . . .
Otros: Godsmack, Hurt, Garth Brooks, Incubus, Shakira, Linkin Park, A Perfect Circle, yeah I know. A weird, eclectic mix.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Baby turtles being "born" out of the sand in San San Pond Sak, Panamá. And then their first touch of the sea.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm pretty decent in Spanish grammar and language skills. I would love to do intercambios with anyone who wants to practice their English skills. Or if you need tutoring in Spanish, I could do that too!
I can walk on my hands. If you want to learn, I'll try to teach it to you.
I'm a pretty great chef, if I do say so myself. We can cook together! (And then eat a delicious home-made meal!)

Countries I’ve Visited

Costa Rica, Italy, Spain, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In

Spain, United States
