About Me

ABOUT ME

I studied and lived in Montreal for 5 years before moving back to France two year ago. There I worked in a primary school while keeping on drawing on the side, I did a certification to become an English teacher and I saved money to go to Chile with a Working Holiday Visa. Yes, I'm super indecisive and I have no clue what to do with my life but I'm OK with it. I take each day as it comes, making the best out of it :)

I have this side project to make a comic out of the very first trip I did in 2015, couchsurfing and hitchhiking my way from Montreal to Alaska with my best friend.
In the end, the adventure wasn't only the road but all the people we met, all the stories we heard along it. It was a crazy yet beautiful trip, filled with new friendships and a renewed faith in people. And that is exactly why I wanna tell and draw this story!

PHILOSOPHY

Always look at the bright side of things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have used Couchsurfing since I started travelling 5 years ago and I never stopped. Even if I'm only going somewhere for a couple of days I'm checking the website in search of local people or fellow travelers I could meet. I don't see the point of traveling without Couchsurfing. It brings so much more to the travel experience when you are enjoying your time with locals!

I have many wonderful stories and memories of my time with couchsurfers (both at home and abroad).
In Mexico one of our couchsurfer even let us do a big mural in his backyard, it was amazing!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As a surfer, I only had great experiences so far. People on CS are great and I have good friends I first met through CS! Sure, some times are better than others. You cannot connect with everyone, that's part of the deal. As long as both parts are respectful, it is not a problem.

I had the space and possibility to host people in Montreal and it was nice being able to give back to the community a little bit. I enjoyed providing a space for people to come and enjoy the city. And I got to appreciate even more the generosity of the hosts. Being a host is often time, money and energy consuming and every time I surf somewhere I try my best to be the least trouble possible.

Interests

I love mountains, hiking, being in the nature in general. Walking, exploring new places, going out of my comfort zone and learning languages.
I love all kinds of music, books and movies.
Art, obviously ! I especially enjoy drawing and sketching.
Honestly, I'm interested in a large range of topics so whatever is your thing, there are high chances I will be keen discussing it with you!
I've also been a vegetarian for the past 5 years.

Music, Movies, and Books

I will not be listing music, it would be too long and boring.

I love every Pixar movie ever made. Animations movies in general, the King and the Mockingbird, Hayao Miyazaki's movies, Mulan, the Corpse Bridge...). David Lynch, Gus Van San, David Fincher.
Amongst my favorite books : To kill a mockingbird and American Gods.
I like comics and graphic novels too. The Maus series by Art Spiegelman is one of my favorite.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moving to Montreal was a big adventure.
Hitchhiking all the way to Alaska without getting eaten by a bear in the Rockies !
Traveling on my own to Peru.
Hiking Conception volcano on Ometepe Island (7h and 1600m from bottom to top)
Getting a job opportunity in Nepal thanks to a person I met via Airbnb!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am no chef but I'm good at cooking french "crêpes". I can teach you, my recipe is super easy. My boyfriend is also great at cakes in general and banana pancakes especially.

I can help you grab some basics concepts of drawing and watercolor painting if you're interested in that.

I enjoy speaking other languages. I'm fluent in english and my spanish is slowly starting to be acceptable. And of course I speak french! I'm always up to learn/teach new words or expressions.

But overall I think every person you meet teaches you something about this world we live in and that is the most interesting thing of all :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am easy going. I adjust to the person/s I am with on the moment. I like sharing good moments with people and enjoying little things in life.
