About Me

Hello there!

This is Furky from Turkey. I work as an online English teacher/video editor/home dj.

I love meeting up with new people, experiencing different local cultures, travelling, giving presentations, being active politically in NGOs. I have given workshops, presentations on topics such as Public Relations, Filmmaking, Sustainability, Climate Change, Stop-motion Animation etc... I would like to continue my career as a trainer in such topics whilst meeting up w/ new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite movie is Anomalisa. It is a stop-motion Charlie Kaufmann movie. Highly recommended.(Also I have a projector in my house, if you pay a visit we can watch together.)

Music: Ethnic/Organic House. I love the fusion of Eastern sounds in any electronic music. It is one of those things that just "works"))

Books: I need to read more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I went to Moldova, I met another fellow traveller staying in my hostel. So, one day he came to me said: "Furkan, I will be heading Transnistria (A restaurant, I presumed). So, if you want you can join me. Don't worry about the taxi price, you don't need to pay for anything." I took the deal went into the taxi. It turned out that Transnistria was a legit country. There were tanks, soldier etc.. everywhere. Then we made the taxi driver wait while we were travelling the country. Then got back on it to return to Moldova.

Going to a country without knowing it is one, with somebody you don't know anything about, also doing so with a taxi something you don't experience every day.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am considerably interested in politics and current problems our socities facing now. Also, I love cinema and art. I think art and politics have so much in common. My purpose in life is to be more active and find a little bit of art and show it to the people. Because I really believe art is the only solution to end all of these conflicts going on in this world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share Turkish rakı ofc. Besides that, I am very positive and highly energised person. So, if you are in a bad mood .. You came to right address. I like listening more than talking. I really believe that these connections/sharing experiences are really important thing we have in our life. So, yes fun, enjoyment and sense of humour. (Be ready I may be too sarcastic sometimes that you might not understand the if I am joking or not:)
