Hello! I'm Furkan from Istanbul and I just graduated from college. I had the opportunity to live in U.S. for 4 months while I was studying. After that experience I realized that I LOVE traveling and the feeling of being on the road. When I thought about the next step of my life, I couldn't find a satisfying answer so I basically hit the road.

I am more of an outdoors person and I like long hikes as well as hanging out at bars. If you're into some drinking games, I can be your best partner or your nemesis.

I am very enthusiastic about learning in general. Maybe that's my motivation on doing things in life like traveling, eating, drinking. We can have a long conversation about it.

I've been living away from my family for years so I consider myself as a down to earth and easy to live with person. I love discovering live music scenes of the cities I go to. I am open-minded and interested in what you have to say about things.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

It may sound cliche but I think living with locals and staying with a person from a different culture can be considered as the main purpose of my philosophy for traveling. In every country I've ever been, I have learned a lot from the people living there and Couchsurfing is a great opportunity to learn from others.

兴趣

From everyday things, I LOVE music. I can talk about it for hours, I can listen to all the new music you recommend, I can recommend some artists, we can play some songs, record some songs, make an album maybe. I also like taking long walking trips, talk about some scientific topics like the concept of time or self-realization. I would love to join you when going to your favorite bar in town. Also we can talk about your culture, my culture and maybe learn a few things from it.

I listen to almost everything I can find (And no, that's not a thing people who don't know a thing about music say). But some artists or bands will always have a place in my life: Dylan, Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Johnny Cash, Journey ...

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Roadtripping in the U.S. for 16 days while staying at roadside motels, hippie buses, a Mongolian Yurt (that was the most amazing one I think).

I can also share some cool guitar tricks and some vocal exercises if you're interested. If you play an instrument, we can even record a song or two!
