About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be happy at work and in my daily life; to travel to exciting new places often; to be challenged and grow as a teacher and a person; to teach what I love and learn about different cultures along the way.

ABOUT ME

My love of language led me abroad, where I've had the most wonderful adventures in teaching and life. I wanna meet more people, eat new foods, learn new things and be blown away by this big world. It's been a success so far. (Turns out English degrees are good for something, after all!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In a world where we're all connected by technology instead of real interactions, where we can learn all about people without really knowing them, I think the CS project provides a great way to reach out and make connections, learn about new people and have adventures that would've been missed by just following the Lonely Planet guide.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Angkor Wat at sunrise ranks as the most beautiful and breathtaking thing I've ever seen; but the most amazing times have been the moments when I share an experience with locals or fellow travelers, when everything feels right in the world, like you're right where you're supposed to be. My top moments of serendipity: writing postcards on the banks of the canal in a tiny, ramshackle neighborhood in Bangkok, eating sour green mango dipped in chili sauce; and a late night/early morning international sing-along in Hongdae, the heart of Seoul's music and arts community.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you're a travel writer, writing traveler, or anything in between, I'd be thrilled to give feedback and exchange opinions on the writing process. As a former arts & entertainment newspaper editor, it feeds my creative drive!
