About Me

CURRENT MISSION

... I am a leaf on the wind...

ABOUT ME

I'm reaching an age where I should start becoming more responsible, but seem unable to take life too seriously. My method of travelling is to plan nothing and see where I end up & who with; which has worked surprisingly well so far! I love reading, watching films and drinking good beer. Occasionally all at the same time.

PHILOSOPHY

Be open minded and ready to change plans and go with the flow. If you don't know where you're going then you'll never get lost.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to the couch-surfing experience but am looking forward to visiting people and sharing my home-town with visitors.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All good! Stayed with and met up with some really cool people in Romania.

Interests

I like exploring new places and finding all the little back alleyways in new towns and cities.
In my spare time at home I like to read a lot and enjoy watching films from around the world. I spend time with friends, going out to pubs and seeing live bands.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite authors include Neil Gaiman, Sebastien Faulks, Herman Hesse, Haruki Murakami and Mervyn Peake.
I like films by Hayao Miyazaki, Alfred Hitchcock, Akira Kurosawa, Terry Gilliam, Orson Welles and David Lynch, amongst others.
I like music from Flogging Molly to Gojira to Mozart and especially enjoy seeing live performances.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My favourite times so far have been spent travelling around Asia where I have met many cool locals and fellow travellers. I loved living on a farm in the Jungles of Northern Thailand where the philosophy was to relax and grow food with other volunteers.
I also really enjoyed travelling on the Indian trains. Epic journeys of 30+ hours, spent in a compartment with friendly, interesting strangers.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Czech Republic, France, Hungary, India, Laos, Morocco, Netherlands, Romania, Thailand, United Kingdom
