About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Challenge myself every day.

ABOUT ME

I'm a 20 years old young woman from Montreal, in the Canadian province of Quebec. My first language is French, but since english is a more wide-spread language, I'll write my profile informations in english.
I just finished CEGEP (a school stage that we have here between high school and university), where I studied social sciences. I am planning on going to university in a year from now. I'd like to be a teacher in elementary school, because I love kids and I want to try to give them the best preparation for the life ahead of them.
For now, I'm taking a year break before beginning University to travel. I haven't traveled a lot in my life and it was a huge dream for me to go for a backpacking trip in Europe! So I took three jobs, worked full time for a few months and here I am, ready to go!
I am a very open person. I like to discover different things in life : new people, different cultures, different activities, different food, different experiences... I think it's possible to find good within everything and everyone, and that's what I try to do every day.
I enjoy solitude as much as I enjoy being with friends and meeting new people : both of them brings me something positive. So I leave alone for my trip, but my goal is to meet a bunch of new friends from new destinations.
I like being active in my life, do any kind of stuff : take a walk in the city or hike a mountain, sit at a terrace with friends, go to a movie, cook, enjoy a beautiful sunny day outside, jogging, read a book in a park, partying...I try to make every day special, because I think that special days are the ones to remember the most. =)

PHILOSOPHY

I have learned that in life, it is essential to face our fears to keep on moving. Otherwise, we just stay in our little comfort zone to feel safe. We may think that we are happy with it, but sooner or later we realize that we're stuck in it. To move on, to live new experiences, to evoluate, it is mandatory to face those fears that keep us hiding from ourselves.
Most of the time, it turns out to be easier than we thought!
I try to challenge myself as much as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am brand new on CS, but I have heard so many good comments from my friends about it!

Interests

- Reading. Books have always been a passion for me, I can still remember the first novel I ever read. I was six years old and it was called "Un monstre dans mes céréales" (translation : "A monstre in my cereals"...great litterature! haha) I always carry a book with me. I can stay for hours and hours in a library. Litterature is the simplest way to create any kind of universe, characters or situation..possibilities are endless! I like writing as well, for the same reasons.
- Music. All types of music : I think there is good stuff in every style, and you can't really enjoy music if you only stick to one. I also had singning lessons for fifteen years, and piano for about five years.
- Sports. Being active is very important for me, it keeps me balanced. I like jogging, biking, walking. And when winter comes, skiing comes with it! Movement makes me feel good.
- Kids. I love them, they are so pure and simple. They know what they want and what they like and go for it. The smallest thing can get them amazed. I think adults should learn from children instead of trying to transform them so early into little adults.
- Movies. I like being told stories.
- Nature. Every thing about it. The sounds, the silence, the colors, the textures, the odors, the seasons.
- History. I think it is fascinating to imagine how people lived before us.
- SHOES. After all, I am a girl!
- Partying. =)
- Cooking. I used to be very bad in the kitchen, but I've learned to appreciate good food and now I must say I'm a pretty good cook.
- Discovering something new.

Music, Movies, and Books

Hmmmm. It's very hard to choose.
Authors : Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, Diana Gabaldon, Anna Gavalda, Guillaume Musso, Nicholas Sparks, Michel Tremblay, Marie Laberge, Stephenie Meyer, Bernhard Schlink, Nicole Fyfe-Martel, Arlette Cousture, J. K. Rowling, Romain Gary. And many more that don't come to my mind right now!

Teach, Learn, Share

Since I haven't traveled a lot in my life yet, I think I have a lot to learn, and that's the reason why I'm traveling!

I could give singing lessons...and I could also show you how to hold many plates at the same time..! Quite a practical skill after all.
