I'm just a kid from a rural part of the US. I grew up distance running, but also delved into a number of hobbies to include gardening, guitar, geography, camping, rock climbing, and biking. I currently compete on a triathlon team in the US. I love all things outdoors.

I am studying Mechanical Engineering with an Arabic Minor. I am currently on a semester abroad in Morocco (Al-Akhawayn University).

I have always wanted to get out and explore the world, and the more I travel, the more I realize that my favorite memories are the people I meet along the way. CS seems like a great way to connect with locals and learn about the cities they live in through their eyes.

Some books I really enjoyed are Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace, Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer, On the Road by Jack Kerouac, and Fear and Trembling by Søren Kierkegaard.

I'm not much of a movie guy, but I really enjoyed It's a Wonderful Life, Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Gladiator, and Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium.

Odds are, if you are interested in a subject, I am, and would love to hear about it. On the other hand, I have seen a lot of really neat things and felt a lot of really diverse feelings. My hometown, Memphis, Tennessee, is a cultural experience that is very different from anywhere I have been. Growing up in Memphis has taught me how to be caught in the middle of many different perspectives and keep people together.
