About Me

OK basically I'm an English music graduate who's landed a journalism job in central London. My dream is to be a news journalist, though currently I'm in a field that's not quite... stimulating enough. Ask me what type and you'll first be baffled and then be disappointed.

EDIT: I'm now no longer a journalist as I've left that job and decided to travel the world. EXCITING. So for 2016, after a couple of things changed in my life, I decided to get up and just... go! A year long, RTW trip. That's pretty much the gist of my current situation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet people properly! I want to travel but often there are two extremes while doing so; either you go to a hotel and be antisocial, or you go to a hostel and you're CONSTANTLY being surrounded by people. With couchsurfing you get to hang out with a select few, meaning the friendships will be much more meaningful and relaxed.

Interests

Music. I mean I know there are people that say music is their life but I'm not exaggerating; music is my life. I studied it, I write it, I write about it, I listen to it literally non-stop. Y'know when you see people on holiday reading books on a beach? I do that with music. I just stare into space for hours listening to whatever.

Also writing. I mean I'm a journalist yeah bit it's not quite the field I want to be in. Gotta keep climbing! I write a lot in my spare time.

Wine. It's the only thing I'll admit to being a total nerd about. If you give me access to a decent wine shop, I'll get you the best wine you've ever tasted, and that's a promise!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - I'm a music graduate. You name it, I'll like it! Though if I HAD to answer... Hmmm... Sufjan Stevens. The Age of Adz is genuinely the most innovative musical masterpiece since Lennon/McCartney.

Movies - Synecdoche, New York. I know it's sacrilege to say a modern film when answering this question but seriously... if you haven't seen it, you've *got* to. Right now. Go now and watch it. Go on!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not exactly bungee jumping, but I once stepped into the path of a Prime Minister and stopped him so I could shake his hand and ask a couple of questions. That was pretty terrifying for a 19 year old.

P.S. No it was NOT David Cameron. I wouldn't go near him.

Teach, Learn, Share

What? Does this? Mean?

What I Can Share with Hosts

Anything! I feel like I'm easy going, I'll make food, I'll do literally whatever you need around the house, AND on a more specific note I can be a wine nerd and bring you some awesome ones to try. Plus, if you have a piano, I *will* even go as far as to play you something. All the time. I love pianos. Sorry.
