Overview
About Me
French & American 🇫🇷🇺🇸 raised in the city of Versailles and around the New York City area. Both countries are my homes, have had a significant impact on me, and have shaped my personality in a unique way. No one’s life journey can be explained or accurately captured in the span of three questions, and so for that reason, I’ve started calling myself an onion 🧅. What I mean by that is that there are layers that you will have to peel back to get a good sense of who I am during our stay and how I got here 🙂.
I am perfectly understanding of hosts if something comes up at the last minute and they can’t accommodate a request anymore, as I feel it is only fair of them since they’re doing us surfers the courtesy of letting us into their home. But hopefully, everything goes as planned 😅 (but totally fine if it doesn’t).
Traveling around the world and “in my backyard” is very important to me, and as such, I’ve already visited 18 countries and 40 states in the US. I also found out I could learn any foreign language I’d set my mind to, that I love meeting new people and getting to know new cultures (and share in them as well), that I very much love working on different projects and that I’m open to anything (as long as it’s reasonable!). I got married in Montreal, Québec, Canada to my wife in the summer of 2024 in the most spontaneous of ways, and we now both live together with our two cats back on Long Island, NY 😊!
The more I’ve lived and grown, the more I realize how much we’ve grown accustomed to shutting the other down if we deem our own ideas superior. It happens all around us, thus leading to this sense of disconnect between one another and of irreparable brokenness. But one remedy I’ve found to that is to truly open your mind and forget about the self, almost like you would let yourself be convinced by whatever is said, but with the real purpose of understanding the other’s perspective and add it to your own, as it then helps you grasp crucial information to understand the issue at hand. Listening to the other doesn’t make them right, but it makes them heard and seen, and most importantly gives you the necessary puzzle pieces that make it easier to understand this complicated world we live in.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to make wonderful, long-lasting connections and start making friends locally, as well as whenever I’m out traveling. As Couchsurfing is a wonderful and safe platform to meet strangers, I’m only here to make meaningful friendships and broaden my own outlook on how to live life “the right way”.
I am also here looking for stories, perspectives and ideas seldom discussed or shared with anyone else. I think what we truly lack sometimes is trust and open-mindedness, for a myriad of reasons. I like nothing more than walking away from an experience with an extra piece of the puzzle 🧩 regarding the key existential issues of our day.
أنا عايز يتعلم العربية المصرية، لو سمحت ساعدني قبل ما اروح مصر!
我想继续学习中文,所以帮我学习在我去中国之前!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I’ve had the privilege to do many amazing things, but here are the ones that take the 🍰:
🇺🇸 Lived in a van in California for 2 weeks and did a solo road trip for 22 days from San Antonio, Texas to Nashville, TN (but going as far as Louisville, KY)
🇨🇦 I was hired as a tour guide for a day trip to the Thousand Islands without having ever gone before!
🇭🇷 Stumbled upon and explored an abandoned resort called Hotel Goricina completely by chance while visiting Dubrovnik, Croatia
🇫🇷 Saw dolphins up close while boating around Brittany and went climbing on a Via Ferratta!
🇲🇽 Got caught in a sandstorm and mini flash floods in La Paz
🇮🇹 Drank shots of homemade alcohol made by a distant relative on my wife’s side and remained somehow coherent
🇸🇪🇧🇪 Explored Stockholm and Brussels on my own
🇻🇳 Traveled on a gondola through Haiphong Bay and having to get off a bus in the middle of nowhere because of a fire that started in the back 🔥😟
Teach, Learn, Share
I can give you advice on how to learn any foreign language and share my expertise in doing so with you! I can also teach you how to ski, ride a horse, a bike, talk to you about sailing with my family, and bounce ideas off you if you’re in need of a new adventure, new insights and the like :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am the most easy-going, considerate, open and respectful person you’ll ever meet. I can share a few stories, life lessons and my philosophy, and will always want to hear yours. I consider cleaning up after myself basic Couchsurfing etiquette, and can wash my own dishes or even take it over completely!
