About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn, read, relax, and help others.

ABOUT ME

I have made lots of positive changes in my life in 2021 and I look forward to new adventures and challenges. I've quit my job in aerospace engineering and I have begun teaching, working in advocacy, and trying to become more serious about photography.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted a couple of people in the past and I've surfed a few times back when I was in the Midwest. I am currently in my hometown of San Diego but I live in my ADU tiny house so it's a tiny 150sf space that can't really fit guests.

Interests

The outdoors keeps me going, camping, hiking, rock climbing, running, playing sports. I am always interested in the local coffee spot, breakfast food is what keeps me going, and I like to read and write, although I'm not a great writer.

As far as bigger interests are concerned, travel is mandatory and I really love to meet locals wherever I'm at and see the spots that they frequent as opposed to the "top 10" of a given city.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Anything really. It's gotta have a good beat. Never liked country

Favorite Movies: Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, and basically anything Marvel. I get so nostalgic of my comic book collecting days as a kid.

Current Book: Between the World and Me
Favorites: Caste, Grapes of Wrath, Affluenza, The Well Dressed Ape, The Demon-Haunted World

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Drove 6 hours, by myself, in the twilight hours, through the Peruvian desert, to watch condors soaring on thermals over a cliff overlooking a beautiful valley at Cruz del Condor.

Teach, Learn, Share

Building things is a hobby and I have done quite a bit of home remodeling. I can give lots of tips that can help a home remodel but hopefully I won't be asked to remodel a kitchen while couch surfing... unless it is somewhere in France on a Villa, then we can make a deal! ;)

As far as hobbies go, I can teach some rock climbing skills, I've done plenty of long backpacking trips, and would share any of the camping, hiking, backpacking skills that I have.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Cuba, Laos, Mexico, Peru, Spain, Thailand, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
