About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to heal the earth and its inhabitants
ABOUT ME
i am a fairly intense person who likes to spend hours talking about some abstract but fascinating theory, will drop that conversation for an opportunity to run out into the streets for some good old rabble rousing and political activism, likes to make and drink good wine and needs a certain amount of outdoor time with boots, pack and dog to be sane. I also am in medical school and will be a doctor in a few months. lastly, i will probably spend hours talking about how amazing and wonderful my fiance is and how much i miss her (she is working in texas for a year.)
PHILOSOPHY
if something is worth doing, it is worth doing badly. i have way too many big dreams and just not quite enough talent, skill or time to pull them off...but i still have to try because they are worthwhile.

Music, Movies, and Books
books - ken wilber, robert parker (the "spencer" mystery writer, not the wine critic), william gibson, neal stephenson, robert arellano.
movies - all time favorites include the marx brother, touch of evil, the spaghetti westerns and probably conan the barbarian. when I am post-call and haven't slept in 35-hours, Super Troopers or Team America work just great.
Music - Weary Boys (or just about any other blue grass band), hoyt axton, billy jo shaver, utah phillips. I also like hip hop (including the commercial stuff on the radio...but not usher...god i hate usher). And lastly klezmer.
Teach, Learn, Share
wine appeciation - first, stick your nose in the glass and take a few brief sniffs. your not trying to oxygenate your lungs, just catch the perfume. what comes to mind? cherry fruit roll-up? burned coffee? horse barn funkyness? all good, just try.
