ABOUT ME

I love to discover, taste, understand, enjoy and share. I love adventure and life. I love perfection. I love beauty.

Russian-born, French-educated, too many years of piano, and finally an opera singer. I often travel because of my profession - or thanks to it.

Did a few funny things, among which simultaneous translating, tourist-guiding, souvenir-selling, modelling, klezmer playing, opera coaching...

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in empathy. I believe that the pursuit of happiness is the ultimate sense of living, as long as this happiness does not involve harm to others or eradication of species. ...Empathy again.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have a flat on my own and I welcome travellers gladly (see couches available on my page for conditions).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Before knowing about CouchSurfing, I had had several travelling episodes, and funny ones, like sleeping under a beautiful organ in a church at Kirkjubaejarklaustur, or in a snow-assailed loo-less izba in Czechoslovakia...

Through CS, I hosted many exceptional people, and have been hosted by an even more exceptional person.

Many. Tango dancing (and playing). Ballet (and ballerinas). Horse riding. Travelling, naturally. The guitar. Trekking. Gymnastics. Wines. Reading. Swimming. Cooking and consuming. Flowers. And cats. I love cats. There's always a couch available for you if you happen to be a cat.

And I spend hours in my garden when the weather allows me to.

音乐、电影和书籍

Books: any book written in good rich language, possibly with some humour, a captivating plot and deep sense (sometimes a nice primitive thrilling page-turner is the right thing too when you must keep your bottom seated in a plane for 10 hours or more), especially science-fiction. Eco, Shakespeare, Bulgakov, Apuleius, Simmons, Eliade, Pushkin, usw. Movies: same parameters, plus good acting (seen any good acting lately?); a little faiblesse for Japanese horror. Music: classical, opera, lounge, pop, world + more or less everything, even rock.

I want to learn everything, as everything as possible. Just any new experience makes me a happier and better man. If you can teach me a song of your country I'll love you.

There's not so much I can teach, but I'll do it gladly. If you need piano lessons, please feel free to ask. I can also teach a few tongues, the guitar, bel canto singing, and a few steps of Argentinean tango.
