ABOUT ME
I was born in Michigan, left when I was sixteen after reading the standard lone traveling young man literature that they hand out to frustrated youth, hitched alot, sailed in two oceans and five great lakes as a deckhand and then ship's engineer, got tired of life at sea, settled down in Maine and worked in a boatyard for almost three years, got tired of the 8 hour day, quit and started playing music almost 8 hours a day, started a band with my friends that I play double bass and banjo in and plan to head off to school this fall so that I can equip myself with the tools to save the world. Or something like that.
PHILOSOPHY
Enjoy the hell out of life but not without heed to other people. Keep yourself educated and up to date. Don't leech off other peoples kindness or charity if you don't have to. See the world if you can and learn to enjoy every bit of your life that you can get away with.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
By being a good host and a good guest, because that is why we are all doing this in the first place, right?
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
British Virgin Islands on Tortola when I was 16. I got to sleep on a porch in front of an artist's studio for a few weeks, and I had a grand time. I've also been hosted in Austin and Tallahassee while on a bicycle tour.
My current house has had some pretty fantastic couch surfers come by, and most visits lead to playing music and drinking wine long into the night.
Interests
I enjoy music a great deal, and play guitar and recently picked up the banjo and some upright bass. I love being out on the water. Mostly, any time I can get away with running around in a wilderness is well spent. Also, I love my bicycle more than anyone.
