About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Visit Ecovillages throughout Europe
ABOUT ME
I care about other people and about the health of our world, which is why I'm visiting ecovillages. I want to find out how we can live in a way that's better for us and can last into the indefinite future without destroying our planet (read: destroying us). That being said, I'm not at all a down person. I'm freakin' excited to be alive.
I was raised in the US, but ever since I was fourteen when my mum first brought me to Scotland, I've been more involved in Scottish culture than in US culture.
I've also been involved in theatre for much of my life, and I enjoy the way theatre can tell stories that help us understand ourselves. Stories essentially make us who we are, and they have the power to connect us to the land. I want to use theatre to tell stories that can bring together communities and instill in us a sense of place.
I love music, and play bagpipes, harmonica, drum, tin-whistle, and sing, and I'm learning fiddle and guitar.
PHILOSOPHY
We have such a short time on this planet. I try to live every moment of my life to the fullest, which means trying to accomplish meaningful things as well as having fun. What would you do if you had one hour left on the earth? I try to live an ethical life, and try to share as much love as I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am currently traveling, so I am surfing on other people's couches, trying to learn as much as I can, and spread the knowledge around. Making friends, playing music, having a great time.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm pretty new to Couchsurfing. Stayed with two different people in Totnes, Devon, England. Had a wonderful time.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music of every kind. Favourites: Folk (celtic), blues, gospel, ska, hip-hop (when the poetry is worthwhile).
Movies: Currently loving What About Me
Books: Soil and Soul by Alasdair McIntosh; The Transition Handbook by Rob Hopkins; Culloden, by John Prebble; will continue when I can think of more.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Glen Affric. Was initiated into adulthood by climbing Mt. Ashland and spending the night there. That was amazing. Also, did a ten day course in Vipassana meditation--mind blowing.
Teach, Learn, Share
Happy to teach basic music skills on instruments I play. I would also love to share ideas about human ecology and renewing communities and nature. I want to learn more guitar and fiddle. I also want to learn traditional stories from wherever I go.
