ABOUT ME

I have an active mind but it's slowed down a bit due to the stress and repetitious nature of my daily work. It would be good to meet some new people and re-energize!

PHILOSOPHY

If you have the ability to do something, do it to enrich yourself without hurting others. We are considered luckier than most if we have the freedom and means to choose what we want to do and become.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd like to travel to different places and learn languages around the world that I never thought were possible before because I needed to 'know someone'. I'd also like to host. One of my favorite things to do is to spend lunch/dinner with someone and learn/share with some great conversation!

The best so far! No regrets! I've met some AMAZING people I wouldn't have met otherwise!

兴趣

I have an interest in: martial arts (Wing Chun), films (reviews, writing, talking about), computers/technology, dogs (I have a 7 year old Boxador and an 8 year old German Shepherd), music (diverse, karaoke!) traveling and food/cooking and eating out!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

1. Nominated for Teacher of the Year my second year. I worked really hard and made some strong connections to my students, some I still think about. They were a great bunch!
2. Finally got 100% of my students to pass the state mandated writing test in 2009-10! Despite the drama of living in a low-income neighborhood with heavy gang activity, the kids really amazed the district and came through, I could not have been more proud!
3. My experiences living in San Francisco (2001-03) and L.A. (2003-04), it was the most amazing time of my life! If you've never strayed far from home on your own, I'd definitely recommend it. You'll never know who you are and what you're capable of until you spend enough time away from what you're used to.

I can share what I know about martial arts (18 years exp), I speak Cantonese and taught English. I also have a background in computers/technology. I'm also pretty good at grilling and cooking.
