Overview
About Me
I like cider brewing (it's really easy and delicious), ambient noises, communication, dumpster diving, consensus-based decision processes, skiing, and cooking.
I study applied mathematics for a living. This means I get to dabble in many subjects, which makes me feel like I don't know anything.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because all the cool people are doing it! Actually. I have met some ridiculously enriching people on here.

Music, Movies, and Books
I <3 minimal and deep techno and house. <3<3<3
Favorite contemporary fiddler: Chance McCoy.
Ridiculously artful variations on a theme: The Book of Laughter and Forgetting, Milan Kundera.
Deep-as-hell novel about life, the universe, and everything: The Lost Steps, Alejo Carpentier.
One of the most accessible and moving poetry titles I ever read: Spring Poems by the Rio Grande, Jimmy Santiago Baca.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I helped start a labor union.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love teaching math and physics, and find it especially rewarding to help kids see beauty in math. I have a couple years' experience keeping bees and know how to maintain cast iron cookware. I would really love to learn some German and Icelandic. Even after years of school, the only thing I can do exceptionally well is washing dishes.
