Hello! My name is Garrett, I am a 22 year-old from a small suburb outside of Portland, Oregon called Tigard. I have the privilege of studying in Murcia, Spain until Christmas so I will be doing a lot of travelling around Europe. As for my interests many would consider me an "old soul". I enjoy playing cards, golfing, a good conversation/laugh, but most of all I have a passion for fishing. I am very excited to be here and meet the wonderful people of Spain and the rest of Europe!

I'm on Couchsurfing because I would like to meet locals and further submerge myself in Spanish/European culture. My 2 biggest goals outside of school while I am here are to make many friends of different nationalities, and to become fluent in Spanish.

Although it may not be a big deal to others, one of my favorite achievements was catching my first big fish without help. After trying and catching nothing for 14 days, I finally pulled in a 4-foot-long (1.22 meters) white sturgeon. He gave me a fantastic fight, and it took me about 10-15 minutes to reel him in.

I am more than happy to help others with English, and also have a few good cards games and a decent understanding of fishing that I could pass on to others.

Besides learning Spanish, I would love to learn about the cultures of Spain/Europe, including foods, traditions, games, holidays, anything really.
