About Me
CURRENT MISSION
We may be from different places. Eat different things for breakfast. Be different ages. But we're all on the same journey. To make the world a little smaller, maybe a little better. And have a beer (or two) along the way.
ABOUT ME
Recently moved from Chicago to Palm Springs, and now living in Playa del Carmen Mexico to learn more Spanish, practice more piano, and to enjoy the life here. I've been in the travel business since age 17, travelling the world, and it's still a passion. Music is the other passion. I listen to it constantly. Although the latest tech/house is usually playing, love most genres from jazz to hip hop and Latin. Enjoy writing/producing music when I have the time.
PHILOSOPHY
Too many. "JUST DO IT". "KEEP IT SIMPLE". "Dance Responsibly." The best things in life are "shared." And from an old Irish saying:
To be happy for a short time, have an ale.
To be happy for a long time, be in love.
To be happy for all time, have good friends.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I usually host CS'ers, but am starting to use CS when traveling for leisure.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Have hosted numerous people from all over the world, made some long-lasting friendships and many good memories.
Interests
Fitness, nutrition, hiking, being outside as much as possible. Enjoy learning, working with computers, including programming, listening to or making music, dancing (no particular style of dancing, just moving to the beat), playing piano/keyboards, photography, good philosophical discussions, spending time with friends and family, and of course travel.
Music, Movies, and Books
As a DJ wanna-be, enjoy EDM, house/festival music, but mostly all kinds of music, from jazz/blues, to hip-hop, to classic rock, country, whatever. Too many good movies to name, Woodie Allen, Inglorious Bastards, Fight Club, The Matrix, anything Star Trek for the life-lessons it teaches, comedies, stand-up comedy. Not a big book reader (lack of time). Read lots of tech manuals, educational books, the internet.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbed inside the great pyramids in Egypt and rode a camel. Danced in the real Carnival in Rio De Janeiro in full costume with a samba school, our school won first place that year. Spent a month in Tokyo, got to know the city and learn the subways, met really great people. Visited the archaeological sites in/around Athens, Greece, and the Mayan ruins in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. Took a week of private Spanish lessons in Costa Rica, met some really great people. Ultra Music Fest 2014/Miami. And Tomorrowland 2014 in Belgium this year with 3 German friends. Unreal experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
People with stories to tell, interesting lives, people that you can learn from, pick up bits of wisdom, recommendations, and who are also open to meeting others from not just the US, but across the world. And people who enjoy good times, a good beer, having some fun, and who don't take life too seriously.
What I Can Share with Hosts
