Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I originally found out about couch surfing from a couch surfing couple I met in Austria.

I became acquainted with Lars and Betty at a table full of people including a very talented magician who was keeping everyone in a thrall. For various reasons, though, I zeroed in on this German couple and spent most of the night chatting with them. The next day Lars and Betty invited me to a gathering of couch surfers and I was immediately smitten with the community.

Couchsurfing is clearly a great community of people and it fills my basic needs as a traveler. I currently prefer to travel alone but I'm also a social creature and Couchsurfing seems like a good way to balance these requirements.

I solo wrote my company's user manual. The software itself is now used by big names in global financial services and British high street retail among other companies (I think that's pretty amazing).
