ABOUT ME

I grew up in Kansas but moved away for undergraduate and graduate school and always tried to finagle a way to travel and see the states -- usually wound up waitressing in a National Park during my summers- or throwing funds together to go on a trip- i save money and watch it disappear while traveling and then start the process all over again. It. never. gets. old. I have a curiosity about the absurd, insignificant random tid bits and facts. Pretty laid back. Love hearing the story of people's lives, and for that matter, meeting people and learning about the world. I'd prefer beautiful scenery to a loud bar any day. Currently live in one spot and attempting to put down 'roots' -whatever that may mean.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would gladly host on my couch if I am in town and thats why I joined. I figured that if I was willing to let people stay to save money - there would be plenty of others out there willing to help me save money as well. Makes it a lot easier to make traveling a reality!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I signed up for CS before backpacking in China for 2 months in 2009 -- it hands down made my trip as amazing as it was. The people, the stories, the opportunity to see neighborhoods and parts of China that I never would have found on my own. I also happened to meet my future husband traveling in China when we both randomly surfed at the same house in Yunnan Provence!

I taught drawing to students who have never picked up a pencil before --eventually I want to be a printmaking professor

I am a printmaker and would love to meet anyone who does relief carving. Eastern OR Western style printmaking
