I am a teacher by profession and a learner by nature. I just moved to Medan, Indonesia after working at a school in the Philippines for the past three years. My best friend also got a job here in the city, (see Liz in the photos), and we live together and both work at international schools here.

In my free time I'm developing a volunteer English teaching project on Nias Island. Search 'Ndulu English" on Instagram, Facebook, and workaway - We are always looking for more volunteers!

To me, the ideal life leaves plenty of room for travel, deep conversation under a fantastically bright sun, belly laughter, DIY projects, delicious and nutrient dense food, dips in large bodies of water, and dancing until your feet hurt.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I've been off of Couchsurfing since 2010, but am now getting back into it since I have the space to host. I've had fantastic experiences through Couchsurfing as I surfer and now want to up my Couch karma as a host ;)

My roommate and I are both busy with work and personal projects during the week, so we usually aren't able to go around the city, but at the very least we love to share good company and conversation over a meal in the evening.

Non-fiction relating to psychology, philosophy, or education.

I prefer series to movies these days. Favorites include Mr. Robot, Girls, The OA, The Leftovers, Stranger Things, Black Mirror, Breaking Bad, True Detective...the list goes on and on.

Music: Jam music in various forms, down-tempo...
