About Me

Hello world,

I´m Génica!

I´m originally from Berlin and one of those many many students here. Berlin is great and I love this city so much for it´s multicultural and wasted character. But what I love even more is Spain. I know it sounds silly but my heart beats for this country, the language and the people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

What a bridge! I´m on couchsurfing because of my big love Spain. From August 2015 till March 2016 I will spend my time in Valencia. I really want to get to know this place and not just have an "ERASMUS/Party semestre".

So I decided "let´s be as open as you can" and well here I am! I´m always up for a coffee, a beer, a walk, a tandem or whatever.

After my Valencia experience I want to open my apartment doors for nice travellers as well. I think this website is such a great and social thing, I wanna support it.

Interests

Oh that´s almost the typical hobby-question. I never know how to respond to it.

Well, I guess my greatest hobby is food. Yeah I know many people say so. But the thing is I wouldn´t say I like cooking or something. No, I just looove eating! I love eating good things and it makes me so damn happy to do so or to experience a country in a culinary way.

But luckily this does not keep me from being at least a little bit active. I´m riding my bike all the time and all over Berlin (Critical Mass, yey). As well I´m a big fan of outdoor activities like hiking or climbing. Anything outside rooms :)

Music, Movies, and Books

pff... Can there be favorites? I don´t have any. I mean it always depends on the mood, right?

I´m not a cineaste but I enjoyed La grande Bellezza a lot. But sometimes you just don´t wanna think anymore and watch something simple or fantastical to leave your own complicated world. It´s not always about being arty and intellectual, I think...

The latest I read was Carlos Ruiz Zafón´s Marina which I´ve swallowed within a day. Sometimes I enjoy Hesse or Auster. But you know what, that didn´t keep me from reading 50shades ;)

Music.. mmh! I could now say:
yeah I´m from Berlin, Berghain electro runs through my veins.

Well, it does not!
I do enjoy electro sometimes hanging with my friends or joining an open air. But if it comes to the stuff i´m listening to in daily life it´s almost the kinda music that reflects my mood. Just being relaxed and happy is always going with Jack Johnson. The funny side wants to hear some German rap. And if I feel like the strong independent woman walking down the street I´ll go with the one and only jessi j ;)
Oh and 80s 90s charts: hell yeah I´m in!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jumping out of a plane above Cordoba, Argentina. I now know what a cloud feels like.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you German, eating, spending money on food, knitting, petting a cat (a real one, don´t be silly!) and enjoying the sun.

What I wanna learn really badly is swearing in Spanish. If you could teach me some magic, this would be pretty cool as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

mmh.. eventhough I don´t like cooking I would do so for a nice host. Got some nice vegetarian stuff going on ;)

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Bolivia, Denmark, France, Greece, Netherlands, Spain
