CURRENT MISSION
To explore the world!
ABOUT ME
I graduated with a BA in English in 2009 in Maryland. My work experience prior and since has consisted of 5 years of working on a private ambulance, 3 years of volunteering at a Rescue Squad, 2 years of Search and Rescue volunteering, and I am finishing a year of teaching English in South Korea as of August 2012.
Now, I'm off to backpack through Central America with a friend for 3-4 months (Depends on $$, only) and after that, I have no idea right now.
PHILOSOPHY
Don't stress.
Having worked in EMS for several years, I've seen that there are much worse things than the little things. As long as you have your brain, you can find a way out of most situations encountered. So, Don't sweat the little things! (despite how overused that phrase may be)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
If I can swing the time between my work and travels, then I am more than happy to give people a safe place to sleep.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Very little. My introduction was in Europe during a backpacking trip, and it ended up being a rather poor introduction. Turned me away from CS for about 6 months. While living in Korea I decided to give it another chance after meeting a CSer here, and have been much happier with it.
Interests
Scuba Diving
Hiking
Swimming
Good food! (Global interest I know) ;) (Mexican and Italian are probably my favorites.)
Definitely not into the party scene though. I like relaxing for a few drinks with friends, but I almost never get drunk. (Not to mention, I'm a terrible dancer!)

Music, Movies, and Books
Horror, Film Noir, Comedy, I can even appreciate "Brain-dead" action movies. The only movie genre that I've never been able to really enjoy is romance.
A bit of everything for music, Though right now, Linkin Park is probably my favorite band again, after dropping their "Living Things" cd
Books, I'm all over the place. I don't really have a favorite author; I'll pretty much just read any book that piques my interest.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Working on the ambulance was an amazing experience. Being able to help people and their loved ones was something is an amazing feeling and something that I would love to do again one day!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share what I've learned medically, though that probably won't interest most people as it can be really dry skill sets until you actually need them!
I have some knowledge of photography. My photos are decent, and I feel that I am good at composing a shot. Anyone who has been out with me when I decide to take a picture, knows that I am very picky about my shots. Definitely not a tourist photographer!
If you find something that I can do, that you are interested in, let me know, and I'll be more than happy to help teach it.
