About Me

ABOUT ME

I come from a very small village in Lithuania. Having been brought up in a rural environment, I appreciate the beauty of nature and simple things. However, I also like postmodern art and critical Marxism.

Over the last 7 years I have lived and worked in quite a few countries. At the moment I am doing a PhD at the University of Manchester, United Kingdom; it is a great city to study and enjoy life. My research is on the political economy of urbanisation in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Whilst I love my studies, I also enjoy life in others ways. I have a bustling social life - and spend a lot of time with my friends just hanging out, or going out dancing. One of my biggest passions is travelling and experiencing the world as it is - immensely beautiful. Whilst travelling, I particularly enjoy meeting new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have never hosted anyone. But currently I have a sofa in my living room, so I could host, if I can manage that with my very busy life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I did some couchsurfing in Mozambique and South Africa, and it was absolutely amazing!

Music, Movies, and Books

I particularly like indie films. My favourite directors are Innaritu and Von Trier. Recently, I finished watching series called 'Six Feet Under', it is not an exaggeration to say that is has partly changed the way I understand life.
Music - i just love experimental music; my favourites are Bjork and SigurRos. And recently I have been listening to some deep house music, and my favourite so far is DJ Sprinkles.
Books - lots of them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I like the beauty of simple things. For me the most amazing things is to be alive at this moment, time and space.
