Resumen
Sobre mí
Hello potential future friends:) I'm on a gap year from life in Aus and making my way though Asia and Central Asia.
I'm a physicist by training, but there are many more things in life that give me joy: travel (of course), photography, writing, reading, films, musics, art, meeting people of different cultures, learning new languages, hiking, swimming, climbing, camping.... the list is long.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
I hope with couch surfing I'll be able to meet many locals during my travels and make some awesome, unique connections that I might not otherwise find in a hostel. I also hope that couch surfing might help me find a place to stay in more remote parts of the world that might be impossible to visit relying on only hotels. I hope to make long lasting connections across many countries, and when I return to my home, I hope to be able to host old and new global friends so they can experience my city!

Música, películas y libros
Music:
really I like nearly every genre. but my favourites are folk and electronic. some top artists of mine are Nick Drake, John Fahey, Four Tet, DjRUM, Bonobo, Orbital, Radiohead, Julia Byrne, Bon Iver, Nick Cave, Tim Buckley, Jeff Buckley....
Movies:
oh god there are too many to name all but here are some top films for me.... Aftersun, Apocalypse Now, Blade Runner (1 & 2), Black Dog, Children of Men, the Father. Yeah i guess i love movies that are visually beautiful, well written, dark, devastating, apocalyptic...anything that will make me sob.
Books:
I'm a very slow reader but I also LOVE reading. Currently reading "And the Ass Saw the Angel" by (King) Nick Cave. Just finished reading Boy Swallows Universe. hmm I'm on a bit of a roll at the moment with the aussie authors, I have 2 more aussie books lines up after. I love a magical realism book. I'm a big fan of the classic writers of the genre Gabriel García Márquez, Isabel Allende and Jorge Luis Borges (Borges was my first love). I also recently discovered the amazing (goated) Salman Rushdie. His take on the genre was new and fucking awesome. And of course Trent Dalton's Boy Swallows Universe was yet another new corner of magical realism that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Algo increíble que he hecho
I think the hardest thing I've done that I'm most proud of was finishing honours (like masters) in physics with decent grades. Man that was a gruelling year, but I'm proud of the work I put in and I think the outcome was worth it.
that is not a very interesting story though.... so i'll also say, I think the coolest trip ive been on was my recent road trip around half of Aus. Over three months we travelled up the center and clockwise around the east side. Northern and central aus is really a special place to visit.
Enseña, aprende, comparte
i love to learn languages. my most successful language is Japanese which I can have a stumbling conversation in (nowhere near fluent though).
I think what id love to learn the most is language skills. I hope to meet hosts who will have the patience to let me practice new languages and maybe teach me a few words.
My main focus is currently Mandarin. But I hope to learn some Mongolian when I am in Mongolia, and maybe some Russian as I hear this is useful in Central Asian countries.
Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones
I can help with English language practice, I can help with household chores, I can do my best to entertain kids :D
Aside from that, I love to talk, share culture, share stories, maybe create art together?
