ABOUT ME
I am a happy and communicative person that loves to meet new people and discuss about a wide variety of topics, from History, to Politics, to cultures and Literature, to video games and martial arts. I consider myself as open-minded and loves the diversity of cultures that I can currently explore in my international environment at the University of Leeds, UK.
PHILOSOPHY
I love to create connections with people all around the world. In my year abroad last year, I travelled a lot and met new people all the time. I loved it! I take advantage of those opportunities to share my culture (not a lot of people know about French-Canadians!) and to learn more about theirs. I believe that everybody can teach us something!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My participation as a host is quite limited sadly, as I don't have a couch :( However, I would be delighted to give a hand to anyone passing by Montréal or even better, to meet them and exchange with them. Also, I'm a history student, so I could share my knowledge of the city with you if you are interested :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have done couch-surfing once in a trip to Toronto for about 4 or 5 days in June 2009 with one of my friends. I loved it! The lady who received us was so nice and it was so convenient to have a place to stay and someone from the city to talk to :) We chatted a whole evening with her, and that's what made me realise how it's a lot more than just letting someone sleep on your couch for one night. This sojourn made me definitely want to renew the experience!
I also did couch-surfing in Prague, Vienna, Split and Athens in a big tour of Europe I did in 2010. The people I met through couchsurfing really brightened my travels and gave me a wonderful insight on how life is in those cities!

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: I've read a lot of French literature in my life. I especially love Alexandre Dumas' work :) (The three musketeers, for instance!)I am currently reading a bit of British literature with the Brontë sisters and Jane Austen, and I love it! I have quite liked Crime and Punishment of Dostoevsky and the Unbearable Lightness of Being of Kundera, although I read them in French, I'm afraid! In another note, just to show that I'm not just a pretentious reader, I have read «My Sister's Keeper» recently and I found it very touching...
Music: Mostly symphonic metal and a bit of rock and classical music...
Movies: I don't really have difficult tastes...my favourites would be probably: fight club, interview with a vampire, americain beauty, run lola run, the truman show, requiem for a dream, memento, le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain, amadeus, rashomon, seven samurai, 8 femmes, catch me if you can, Ben Hur, alexandre le bienheureux, manon des sources, crouching tiger hidden dragon, Matrix (the first one), Lost in translation, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have visited the Scottish Highlands last October and I must say that it is an incredible sight! There were some moments when I thought I was on the planet Mars, with their high yellow mountains or their orange plains! On one evening, we were travelling when the sun was setting on a lake, and everything was glowing of an orange-red light. It was beautiful!
Teach, Learn, Share
I believe that History can help people understand better the world they live in. I'm not the type to give a history lesson or something of the kind to people who don't want to hear about it, but if you want to talk about it, I'm eager to discuss about it with everyone.
If you want to learn some words of French, or some French-Canadian swearing even (we are well-known for that), I would be more than willing :)
And euh...I have the bases of how to sow and to knit in case you need it?
