ABOUT ME

My friends would say that I am a happy, generous, friendly man, with close family ties to my four children (one adopted son is from Thailand). I try to be a good father to my kids and six grandchildren. I am a retired minister but still active in church where I teach an adult Bible class each Sunday. I enjoy the opportunities to meet new people which Couch Surfers provides though I have not been a guest of other members.

Intereses

I usually go to the gym three afternoons each week and a yoga glass one evening to try to stay physically healthy. I enjoy movies - most discs and streaming at home. I belong to a men't book club and do a lot of reading. I used to collect stamps before the post office stopped issuing plate blocks. I inherited my mother's collection of Tea Leaf Ironstone pottery from England and have a collection of Japanese and Chinese cloisone. I enjoy live theater. My musical tastes are mostly classical. I have built a pond in my yard with fish and water lilies. When my children were growing up, we did a lot of camping in Tennessee, New Mexico and Colorado; all of them share my interest in the outdoors.

My first trip to Europe was a 30-day commercial tour, but much later I spent two weeks driving through Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Austria. I think that surviving for 87 years is pretty amazing! LOL
