I am currently an ESL teacher in Chicago. I also spent a few years as an outdoor educator and German speaking tour guide in some of the most amazing national parks in America. (So many amazing places I could recommend!) I have lived in Austria and Japan and traveled throughout most of Europe and Asia. I love meeting new people and experiencing new cultures. I prefer a day hiking or people watching at a cafe to visiting most museums. I enjoy running and spending time with my husband and our two cats.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been very fortunate to travel quite a bit and have found that the most memorable travel experiences come from the people you meet. Knowing people where you go, who can give you a genuine experience improves a visit to a new place 10 fold! Couchsurfing seems like the place to meet like-minded people who want to share their culture with visitors.

My favorite book is "To Kill a Mockingbird". One of those that had a lasting impact from 8th grade.
My favorite movie is "Land Before Time" the first one. The characters are great and the values they live and promote are for all ages.
