About Me
Hi. My name is Gentrit, Gent for short (people also use Gentre, Gente, Gentej or some variation). I am an architect from Kosovo, currently living in Budapest getting my master degree in Landscape Architecture and Garden Art.
I worked as a waiter, english teacher, social activist, part-time clown and entertainer in SOS Children's Villages, and then as an architect and construction manager.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The short answer is "sonder". The long one is that i wanna meet new people in the places i wanna go, and know a bit more about others fellow humans, i guess.
Sonder (noun.)
the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own—populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness—an epic story that continues invisibly around you like an anthill sprawling deep underground, with elaborate passageways to thousands of other lives that you’ll never know existed, in which you might appear only once, as an extra sipping coffee in the background, as a blur of traffic passing on the highway, as a lighted window at dusk.

Music, Movies, and Books
It depends from the mood. Anything from Metallica to Pearl Jam to A Perfect Circle, to Nas and Damian Marley, to Massive Attack. Anything new and that has a certain weirdness to it, it is worth exploring.
Tarantino's violence, Edgar Wright's sense of comedy, Fincher's obsession with details, Kurosawa's compositions are some of my favourite things in cinema. Also a potterhead with a Deathly Hallows tattoo.
I try to read as much as i can, and i try to not let a month go by without reading something. The last book that got stuck in my mind was "12 Rules For Life: An Antidote to Chaos" by Jordan Peterson.
Also Joe Rogan's podcast is goddamn amazing.
