ABOUT ME

I am a 47 year old male living and working as a massage therapist in Austin, TX. I have a beautiful Australian Cattle Dog named NEWLY, and I love this little dog more than I ever expected I would. He doesn't travel with me on couchsurfing trips though. I have a friend who watches him while I'm gone.

My daily life revolves around the therapeutic power of touch and exploring human potential through touch. I could write for hours and hours on this topic, so if you're interested, ask me and I'll give you the address to my blog about my business, EnGedi Massage Therapy.

I have always been a late bloomer in life - just finished my BS in Psychology at the age of 46 after starting my educational journey at 19. LOL. Do I get points for perseverance?

I have recently become involved with The Body Electric School and am enjoying connecting with people through their activities.

I enjoy cooking, reading, thinking about life and writing about it...Have plans of writing a book about my life - it's been a wild ride.

Some people think I look rough and mean because I have a lot of tattoos, etc., but really I'm just a really nice and gentle old soul.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is to create an aura of acceptance around myself, so people feel comfortable around me, know they are accepted no matter what, that they are valuable and worth my undivided attention. I live my life because of HOPE...I wake up surrounded by hope every day.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed twice and loved it. I've hosted 4 or 5 times and have really enjoyed meeting new people and getting to know them. I'm from Mississippi, The Hospitality State, and my mother was always making people feel welcome in her home, and I guess it rubbed off on me.

Interests

I'm interested in writing, Sacred Intimacy, Tantra, Meditation, Good Coffee, Good Books, and very interested in personal growth. Photography

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't own a television, so I watch an occasional movie from time-to-time. I am an avid reader and usually have two or three books going at once.
