About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find the meaning of life!

ABOUT ME

I am curious about people and sincere in wanting to understand them. Humor is important to me as is life-long learning. I like exploring my thoughts, sharing ideas in a conversation, and laughing when it comes easily. I get bored with cliches and stale jokes, and prefer spontaneous wit. I like solitude as much as I enjoy people. I am more of a joiner than a leader.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is for learning and laughing. When we stop learning we start dying. But if we stop laughing, we're already dead.

It's important to treat others with kind consideration. Do good wherever you go - sometimes you only have that one chance. Try to make one person smile everyday.

There is a universe in each of us. That's why it's important to listen to others - so you can learn about their world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As I sold my home and am currently traveling, all my possesions in storage. I cannot provide anyone with a couch. But I would like to have a home to invite people to visit. I want to surround myself with people, stories and ideas which continue to inspire me. And I think CS is not only a good way to build community, but to be with like-minded people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only recently joined CouchSurfing.

Interests

Journaling, writing, listening to music and playing guitar (with a desire to learn to play my piano), conversing, daydreaming, old radio shows, iPod podcasts (Kunstler, Earthbeat, NPR), downhill skiing, sailboating, snorkeling, collecting and watching eccentric DVDs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm amazed I'm still alive! I amazed I have seen so many wonderful places, often on my own, and the people I have met. I'm amazed how long I have been friends with people; that I made it through school; that I've been a technical professional, a teacher, an academic administrator, and a hobo!
