Almost a decade ago, I graduated from one of the United World Colleges, a cosy little place where students from all over the world live together for two short years. In my case, the crib was shared with a Romanian, a Pakistani, and an Argentine. Occasionally we'd debate about musical tastes, foreign policies, even trivial things such as whose turn it was to do the dishes... we soon learned to accept one another. Even if you learn nothing from the experience, you'll learn that there's a friendly acquaintance in almost every part of the world ready to explore their city and/or home country with you. Now, our horizons continue to widen.

This is where couchsurfing comes in -- continuing the tradition of making new friends from all over the world since early 2000s.
