About Me

CURRENT MISSION

A sports/travel tour of the Midwest

ABOUT ME

Trying to accurately describe yourself in a few sentences is quite challenging, so for brevity sake I'll stick to a few details I find most pertinent.

I'm a sports junkie and probably spend to much time playing, watching, and looking up random sport statistics or facts. I'm the kind of guy who finds the difference between bWAR and fWAR fascinating. (Props if you have any idea what I just said.)

Fear not, there's a lot more to me then sports. I love movies and music, hanging out with friends/partying, traveling, photography, outdoor activities, economics, debating, eating, cooking, looking at food, reading about food, and, well... anything related to food. I also am game for trying new things and one day hopefully I'll work up the courage to go skydiving.

I am very energetic and outgoing and enjoy new challenges and experiences as well as staying in and having a quiet one on one conversation. In short, I admire individuals who are respectful and kind (playful teasing encouraged). If you are, we should get along regardless of your interests.

PHILOSOPHY

"If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it"

If by Rudyard Kipling

There is so much to do in this life, yet so little time and we should maximize it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've had a cousin and friends who have used couch surfing previously and they all raved about it. They said that the people they met and the experiences they had via couch surfing were the most rewarding part of their trip. I hope for the same.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None so far.

Interests

I find listening to music very relaxing and an opportune time to collect ones thought. It's my time to reflect upon everything going on. I used to have a very good voice and sang opera in the MET. Puberty hit and now you will probably want several drinks in your system before I open my mouth.

Sports has played an integral role my entire life, particularly tennis, which I currently play at the NCAA level. I follow all four major North American professional sports + tennis and soccer closely and love learning about their histories and visiting iconic stadiums.

I'm a foodie and my favorite cuisines are Italian, French and modern American fusion. Two dishes I enjoy cooking are asparagus with prosciutto di parma and fontina cheese, and a simple chicken, broccoli and mushroom pasta in a garlic olive oil sauce topped with parmesan. I'll add some red pepper flakes if I'm with people who don't mind a little extra kick.

I love traveling to new locations, to see unique animals and landscapes. I'm a serious amateur photographer and enjoy documenting all I see on my travels. Every place is unique and I want to explore as much as possible.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In Australia I was fortunate enough to scuba dive in Port Douglas. The visibility and biodiversity of the coral reefs were breathtaking. On one dive I was able to swim with reef sharks and minke wales, and as my group was about to surface two sea turtles swam up to me and brushed up against my side. One of them gave me a friendly little kiss before swimming off. It was a truly surreal experience.
