About Me
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Hotels feature expensive sterile rooms with a television and no people. I'd way rather have a couch with people and no television.

Data science, dogs, optimization, board games, effective altruism, learning, backpacking, hiking, wine, building,
Music, Movies, and Books
I think my current favorite niche TV genre is dark absurdist animated comedies: Rick and Morty, Bojack Horseman, and Over the Garden Wall. I tend to like TV shows better than movies because there's more time to develop a fleshed out story. Movies usually feel rushed.
The Sandman by Neil Gaiman. I loved Tamora Pierce's stuff as a kid (ok, ok I still love it).
The Hamilton soundtrack is currently stuck in my head.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last summer I hosted a party themed as the Saurus Soviet Socialist Republic, an alternative timeline in which the meteor didn't hit and dinosaurs transcended their oppressors to form a vegan socialist utopia. We rewrote the lyrics to the Internationale to be about dinosaurs. I spent all of dinner with T-rex arms. It is very difficult to eat vegan pizza with T-rex arms.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have a tendency to fix things, but I promise to ask first. I love to talk, but also to listen.
