ABOUT ME

We moved from Hawaii to Colorado in the summer of 2011, shortly after our wedding, and we're having a blast. Megan was born and raised in Hawaii, and I moved there from Colorado after high school to go to college. We met through the music scene and after a few years of dating decided to get married and move off the island. This is Megan's first time living anywhere other than Hawaii, and we're taking full advantage of the ability to drive more than 40 miles in one direction. We're both very easy going and we love to try new things. We love to go on random adventures and day trips around the state, or anywhere we can get to over the weekend. We can get along with anyone as long as they have an open mind.

We love hosting! Showing people around Denver and making them feel at home is one of the best parts of being a part of the Couchsurfing community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

For over five years I played in a touring band, couch surfing our way across the country. I understand what makes a good host and what makes a horrible host, and my goal is to use this experience to make any guests' stay as pleasant as possible.

Interessen

We both have a true passion for food and drink. Whether it's making homemade sausage, brewing beer, or going downtown to try a new restaurant, food is more than just sustenance, it's a way of life. Megan has a culinary degree and loves to cook for anyone who will eat. Music is also a major aspect of our lives. We both played in multiple bands when we lived in Hawaii, allowing our lives to revolve around the music scene. We both still play, but it's now more of a hobby as opposed to a way of life. We love going to museums, or zoos, or botanical gardens, or anywhere else we can walk around and learn something new. We love to be outside, whether it's hiking to a waterfall in Hawaii, or building a snowman in Colorado, rain or shine, night or day.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I used to play trombone in various ska/punk, ska, and reggae bands. Megan used to sing and play guitar in indie and punk bands. We play music together now, Megan sings and plays guitar and I play bass. Our taste in music is very eclectic, we listen to everything from punk to classical, swing to hip-hop. Our tastes in movies and books is just as eclectic as our tastes in music.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Our most memorable moments both deal with travel. Megan's most awe-inspiring trip was right after high school when she and her best friend took a month long journey from Port Angeles, Washington to Ensenada, Mexico. My most memorable trip thus far was when the band I played in from Hawaii was on the 2011 Vans Warped Tour. Traveling across the country, playing music every day, is something that I will not soon forget. Our most memorable trip as a couple would be our honeymoon in British Columbia. It was great getting to explore Vancouver and Victoria in our own way, at out own pace, it was the catalyst for our upcoming trip to Europe.
