About Me

I'm a master student, I study archaeology in Korea now. I was born in Korea but was raised in China, I think Hangzhou where I grew up as my hometown. I like traveling. I mean really! That's one of the reasons why I love archaeology too. I go to fieldwork every summer. Since I study Chinese archaeology, I do field works in China mostly. But I did some excavations in Europe and Central Asia. I like listening to people's story that's another reason for my love of travel and archaeology. When I travel I talk to people a lot, hearing their life stories and traveling episodes. Though for archaeology, I need to imagine a lot and infer from threads of archaeological records, try to think of how people lived with a bunch of soil or sediments, pottery flakes and iron pins.
I started traveling alone since 23, from England. To be honest, at that time, my trips were in rush. Running in museums before sunset. Gradually I'm exploring my way of traveling. Experiencing some extraordinary or exotic things are fine, but I'm trying to walk slowly and give myself more time to think of myself. Enjoy the time and good food talking to people or just do nothing alongside the river.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To know more people and see how people live.
When I started couch surfing it was half worrying and half curiosity. So much fun to spent time in people around the world at their home, cook and walk together. Sights and museums are always there but if I miss this time, I probably won't meet you and know you anymore.

Interests

I like photography and toilets.I take pictures of toilets when I travel.
I do photography in an analogue way with films and dark room.
Sunset and Sunrise.
Good food, homemade food.
Doing nothing but staring the water flow alongside a lake.

Music, Movies, and Books

Korean traditional music, called Pansori. Dont know if you heard of this. I think its kind of theater , one actor or actress on the stage with a musician playing Buk (like drum??). He or she tells a story. sometimes narrating sometimes singing.
Frankly, I don't have a preference for music, my playlists are some random J-pop, pop, zen music, indi music, Chinses songs and songs I can't even tell which genre they are. When I write I listen to Helene Grimaud's Chaconne in D minor.

I like Borges, Bernard Werber, Aimie bender and Gong Jiyong from Korea.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Starting Teakwondo. If I've to pick up one thing as the best choice I've made, that would be starting Teakwondo!
I started from middle school I countinue till now.
Thanks to this I became more outgoing and brave, learn the way to protect myself. I got confidence in sport! and I got a medal in my school's runnig competition !! Before I was really weak and always the last one to arrive at the final.

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak Chinese and Korean as my mother language. I can speak English. I'd love to teach you some Chinese and Korean.
I do Teakwondo, kind of Korean traditional sport and if you like traditional Korean music I would love to share Pansori with you!!
