My great passion is understanding intelligence, reasoning and learning in both people and machines. I'm currently getting a PhD in Computer Science where I do research in AI, specifically neural networks. I also run a personal development, community development and philosophy meetup group in my spare time. I am also working on a book about those topics.

I grew up in Germany but moved to England for high school. I liked it there so stayed on for college. I got my BS in Mathematics from Cambridge and then moved to London to be an interest rate analyst for 2 years, but realized that I needed to strive for something more meaningful. I started my PhD in 2012.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

All the people I have met through Couchsurfing have been awesome. I learnt about diverse topics like nutrition, algorithmic trading and seasteading.

I try to offer a couch whenever I have one, which unfortunately is not the case right now.

Interests

My work, meetup group and book writing fill up 99% of my time. But I also enjoy playing piano, long cycling tours, dancing, pop music, working out, taoist practice, and watching Family guy.
