I'm George, I live on the eastern edge of the Yorkshire Dales, and am an expert in the prehistory, archaeology and history of the Dales, as well as much of England. For example, I could speak to you all day about a site such as Stonehenge, and the concepts I discuss will go far beyond what you have read in most books, even at degree level. I'm also very interested in the spirituality and mythology of Britain, I visit many ancient sites each year, including Churches, castles, ritual landscapes and, of course, just amazing natural sites.

I also play synthesisers and sing, I am an expert on human behaviour and psychology, again, a subject I can speak about all day. I'm also a web developer and designer. I love music festivals, I love camping, visiting other countries, and deep diving other cultures and natural environments.

I live in a lovely house, and I have a couple of spare bedrooms which I keep clean and tidy. I would say, if you would like a host with massive local and national knowledge, someone who is fun friendly, but is not going to take any silliness, (counsellors know their boundaries).

I like getting to know people and how they live. hotels even rented rooms lack any kind of real personal touch. I love travel, mainly in Europe, due to cost, which is another big reason for couch surfing. I can help you with most things around the house, but am too old to get involved in anything significant, and tend not to stay too long in one area. But if you want to know deep, deep secrets of the human psyche, or of human history, then I'm the guy that loves talking about such stuff and say everytime, "I know nothing".

As a historian, I'm very interested in old places, ideally prehistoric places. I love natures, but I also love architecture.

Currently I'm into deep house and modern folk, with a bit of rock. But I don't like to listen to the same thing for too long.

I only watch Scifi movies and Dune was a recent favourite.

I write books, but tend not to read them. My life is a bigger adventure than most books can describe. If I had a favourite author, it could be Carl Jung.

I believe I understand the human condition, it's causes, and cures. I have trained in psychology, philosophy, religion and spirituality, and find all those things are linked in strange ways not always explained well, if at all. I'd be happy to discuss such items with any host.

But also, I am a trained carer, and am used to tidying and cleaning, and generally helping out around the house. I also know the value of leaving things where they have been put, and being honest, and honourable regarding my stay with you.

In addition, I'm an expert of British Celtic Culture, both from a historical/archaeological perspective, but also in terms of the development of spirituality over the ages, and find it fascinating how Christianity has intertwined with the Celt over the years. I've studied ancient history for over thirty years, and can provide good conversation on related subjects over most of the western world.

I'm also good with Tech. I've trained on Computer technology and programming, have been a project manager, and a product manager, and could be used as a business consultant, if you need something like that.
