About Me

Hello!
I'm a stage-and-screen actor from London, England, currently involved in creating experimental and neo-vaudeville stage work with my partner's production company Gimcrack Productions.

I like people, and making them happy. That's me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love people! And places!

I've spent a long time deeply involved in the London theatre scene and am ready to expand my horizons - both by getting out and experiencing the rest of the world, and by looking at my hometown through fresh eyes by welcoming outsiders in.

Interests

I'm a great big actor and a great big nerd - when I'm not at the theatre or devising new material, I'm deep into comics, movies, dungeons and dragons and video gaming - these and the world of cabaret, vaudeville and variety theatre are what make me happy.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - anything by Tom Waits, Circus Contraption, an eclectic mix. I used to be big into hip-hop but now I have favourites from more or less every genre I can find....

Movies - all of them! A few favourites as they come to me - The Big Lebowski, Old Boy, Last of the Mohicans, The Science of Sleep, most anything by Jim Jarmusch, Twelve Monkeys,
I find TV now to be at least as worthwhile as film, so - Orange is the New Black, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones (sorry), The Walking Dead.

Books - favourite reads lately have been The Martian and a variety of Murakamis. I love PG Wodehouse too, and a lot of graphic novels (Alan Moore, Robert Kirkman, Brian Azzarello)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Produced a 5-STAR SHOW with my girlfriend and partner in art, Hannah.
Between us we conceived and devised a light-hearted and super-fun show about death, dying and decay full of song, dance and poetry, which was met with great acclaim and garnered a 5-star review at the Edinburgh Fringe festival 2015.
It was an extraordinary achievement and the responses and compliments we've had have been overwhelming.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A keen introduction to the weird and wonderful world of cabaret in London - it's a scene like no other...

The ins and outs of Central London - I'm always happy to show someone around this baffling little world, and help them discover some obscure bars and restaurants...

Tooting! The area in Southwest London I've called home for decades, with some of the best Indian food in the city and plenty other fun eateries and drinkeries besides...

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cambodia, France, Italy, Laos, Spain, Thailand, United States, Viet Nam
