Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people casually. Traveling solo is often incredibly isolationg and, by its very nature, difficult to really gain perspective on what it is like to live in a particular city. Sure, I want to take a peek at the guide book's top tourist destinations, but I'd much rather spend time eating, drinking, getting to know locals, their friends, their families, etc. And, of course, having them visit me when they're in New York!
