About Me

I ask people to describe me and I always get the same response:

"Well you're just George, you aren't like anyone else."

I'm George and I'm kind of lost I guess. I am quiet and thoughtful most of the time, but when I party I go hard and try to make the best night out of it. I'm pretty cool, I can walk on my hands and do a one handed cartwheel and I can kind of play guitar but not really haha! I have an impeccable music taste and enjoy listening to all varieties of music from Hiatus and Capital Cities to ASAP MOB and Odd Future. I am very easy going and am content with most situations as I try and make the best of what I've been given. I enjoy skateboarding although I can't do loads of tricks I find its a constructive way to learn. I love cycling and I have five bicycles including a fat bike and CX cyclocross bike, and if you know your bikes you'll know what they are, and if you don't you should look them up! I enjoy writing poetry and song lyrics sometimes as I find it peaceful, which is the same reason I love to draw and paint. I find it really satisfying to create anything, and that's why I'm travelling in a sense, because I want to create. I want to create memories, friendships and good times. I hope to visit as many people as possible so they can tell me their stories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm going to be traveling around the world and I need to do it as cheaply as possible and want to meet a lot of new and awesome people who I can share my stories with. I came across this site one day when I googled "how to travel the world for free", I can pay hosts by cooking some funky food, hanging out and being there for them if they want to talk about anything. As I enjoy art, I was planning on creating something for each host I visit, a picture to summarize my visit or just something I've drawn so you can look at it and be like "man remember that dude who came here once, that was fun"
I'd love to host but after I leave home I won't have a home to host at!

Interests

I have a Canon 600D and I take pictures everywhere I go, I like to photograph people and landscapes and anything I think looks beautiful. As I have mentioned prior, I love to draw and paint. I'm quite happy listening to Vinyls and drinking cheap wine early on a Sunday afternoon, but I also like to go out and do some crazy stuff! One time I went skating all night with my best friends around the city of Cambridge and there were so many people out to talk to. We met this one Australian dude at around 3:30am who showed us a bunch of skate spots which was pretty fun. I like to smoke marijuana sometimes also, but hey who doesn't!

Music, Movies, and Books

Its weird but Jane Eyre is a favorite of mine. I have no idea why the novel is just very appealing and Jane herself was very captivating. I literally love all music, just play a song and I'll like it. Unless it's in the top 40. In that case you probably shouldn't play it. I watch a lot of films, one of my favorites is "Pineapple Express" because who doesn't love an action comedy about weed with Seth Rogen and James Franco. I watch a lot of World Cinema as well, mostly french for some reason I have no idea why though! I liked "A Prophet" and of course "Amelie", I heard the soundtrack which was why I decided to watch the film and it was simply fantastic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I watched the sunset behind the mountains in Switzerland and it was beautiful.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd like to learn guitar properly one day.
I'd like to take photos with everyone I meet.
I'd like to paint/draw people for free.
I'd like to teach someone to ollie a skateboard.
I'd like to share my story.
I'd like to hear yours.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook some awesome easy food without much ingredients and I'm happy to just do ANY chores around the house, I can share some stories if you like talking or I can just sit and chill with you whilst we watch a random movie. I want to take everyone I stay with out for a drink/meal on my night of departure as a thank you present. I can share with you music I think you will like, introduce you to some new music artist you may have never heard of!
