Hi,

I'm essentially new to couchsurfing, but I think its a brilliant idea and look forward to meeting some interesting people and learning more about the world and different cultures through the site.

I am English, and embarrassed to admit I don't speak another language- I did try learning Spanish and French at school but neither really stuck.

I live in Bristol in the UK at the moment but am not sure where I will be in the months to come. I am happy to host when circumstances allow though.

I am planning a cycle trip to Turkey from Belgium this winter (2019) and have been loosely planning the trip for a few months now. I am an enthusiastic cyclist but I'm not super fit- I would say my ambition might be greater than my ability in this case, but time will tell.

I am a social worker (currently taking a break from work and planning to use it to cycle across a continent). Aside from cycling I like cooking, photography, gardening, walking, tinkering and of course travel. I am happy to make myself useful to potential hosts as well!

Obviously couchsurfing keeps the cost of travel down, but mainly I'm interested because I think it's nice to meet new people who can give you insight into their home town and country. I don' think that travel should be the preserve of the wealthy and think the world will be a better place if we all help each other along the way.

its very difficult to stay these days inst it because media is so abundant and disposable. At the moment though i'm into alt j as my go to ambient background music. like genres ranging from jazz to heavy metal, jungle and IDM to folk.

i don't really have a favourite book but i do read most days. I'm currently reading full tilt.

i basically binge on Netflix series as well now so difficult to say what is my favourite film. big fan of documentaries.

Happy to cook for a host. I'm a bit of a DIYer so if there is the odd job needs doing i can try help. also big animal lover so if a dog needs minding or walking i would be happy to help with this.
