About Me

I grew up in Ireland and have moved around a lot throughout my life so far.
I moved to England in 2012 to study Physics & Astrophysics. was incredibly interesting and the all the things I learnt at uni aside from my degree have been absolutely invaluable to learning more about myself and the world in which we live.

My CS &other travelling experiences so far:

Met a lot of lovely interesting people at the CS weekly meet up in Ghent, Belgium. - ended up exploring all the public art in the city and visiting the dockyards with Jeroen, my roommate from the ecohostel (amazing boat!) and Otto from the meeting, all by chance :)
Went to Nomads Gathering in Amsterdam July 2015
Hitchhiked Across Switzerland September 2015 - my first international hitching experience and some peoples first time picking up hitchhikers, and the world feels a little more trusting :)
My first couchsurf was with Thomas in Bern and it opened up this new world for me, what a wonderful generous person and such a enriching way to visit new places.
I hope that where I live next I will have housemates that would like to support the cs lifestyle and I will be able to return the favour.

I love to go off for long walks through unknown places and get lost in the surroundings and my thoughts. The best experiences are when you are so swept up by a moment don't even realise how truely alive you feel until you check yourself. I feel this way when I skate or (try to) dance, or when I find music that seems to flow through my veins and give me new energy.

I'm love to cook and share food and a beer with friends. Spend time down by the sea, especially when it's stormy. I like a good argument and the chance to look at life from a new perspective.

I'm quite artistic though I need to put more time into creating.

I'm greatly passionate about health, nutrition and a firm supporter and believer in vegan ethics, lifestyle and diet. I want to become more active and vocal in conveying my beliefs.

I am not religious myself but I have no problem with any religious principles that are based on love, compassion, respect and understanding. I'm always up for a good philosophical discussion. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm not a great planner. I like to let life take me where it will and see what I can learn along the way. The greatest part of travelling is the people you meet and the places you go together. You cannot experience a country until you have gotten to know the locals.

Interests

I have a bit of a cooking obsession and like to experiment a lot with new ingredients and combinations, they're sometimes awful, sometimes amazing, it's all in the name of science. :P
I play guitar, just started getting back into busking again and learning a lot more new songs. I've begun trying to write some of my own.
I love to read but can't seem to get past page 40 without starting a new one. I tend to collect books and accumulate them quicker than I read them.
Hockey! Playing inline, watching Ice Hockey.
Skating in general is something that makes me feel most alive! Can now skate reasonably well on Quads and Inlines, would like to try out roller derby at some point :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I wouldn't call this amazing but I played an hour long gig last valentines to around 50 people in total. I was super nervous but so happy I did it :). A few weeks ago I climbed the tallest mountain in Ireland with my dad and my sister.

Myself and two friends survived a night of sleeping in a bush in Bruges wrapped in a pegless tent as a blanket. (wouldn't recommend)

Teach, Learn, Share

I If you have a microwave I can make you cake in a mug in under 3 minutes. I can share some cheap and tasty recipes, teach you a bit of Gaelic and few tunes on guitar if you have one. I also travel with my facepaints if you want to be a tiger for the afternoon or learn some designs :)
I make a mean burrito.
I play the guitar but sadly it's a bit bulky to carry around all the time., if you have one or two and would like to play some music together or want to learn I can teach you some chords. I've got my ukulele with me if you want to give that a try too :)

If you know anything about yoga and lucid dreaming I would love to learn more! I've always been in love with dancing so if you could teach me a little bit, point me to someone who can that would be wonderful! :)

I'm interested in pretty much everything (except the Kardashians or football- don't ask me about them I won't have a clue): History, Science- particularly physics, astronomy, computing- coding and web development, neuroscience and psychology, ecology, I love slam poetry, stand up comedy, live music & festivals- particularly the intimate gigs.
